Kosuke raced in both Japan and Europe, before being the choice for the Indycar seat with Super Aguri/Fernandez Racing. After a number of years in the United States, he's back in Japan. In 2010, he appeared in Formula Nippon and Super GT, and remains in the latter in 2024. Matsuura won the 2000 Formula Dream Championship in his homeland which helped his progress as Aguri Suzuki then helped with his career into German Formula 3 and the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup before joining up with his mentor in the US in 2004.
