Raced in motorcycles and stockcars in Colombia, but focused more on efforts at home, rather than travel to Europe. Eventually moved to the US where he went on to race very successfully in sportscars. This led to a F1 chance, at the Brazilian GP in 1981. Despite setting decent times in a session designed to get accustomed to the track, he was controversially denied a FIA superlicence. Later appeared in F2, but rather fed up with the sport, he quit in 1985. He was shot dead in 2009 - Londono's life had become more difficult and he was linked with drug trafficking - he ran a hotel with the assets of this and this led to his factors behind his death.
