Fast and often spectacular driver who never had the success both expected or deserved in Formula 1. Later ran his own team in ALMS and the IRL. Won the 2001 European Le Mans Series as a driver and then had a spell out, before he returned to driving in 2004 in endurance and GPM events. Raced in ALMS and Speedcars in 2009 and continued in endurance until 2014. After a three year break, Johansson returned to racing, competing in long-distance endurance events, including British GT racing in 2018. Stefan is also a driver coach, remains heavily interested in the sport, but his main time is taken up by running a watch design company as well as a couple of kart centres, but Johansson also enjoys dabbling in art. He is also a driver manager and is a regular visitor to historic events.
