Another ex-karting graduate, Alfonso moved up to LATAM befor a switch to Europe and the Formula BMW Series. He then moved to Formula Renault 2.0 before settling in GP3 for a couple of seasons. Celis then became a development driver for the Force India Formula 1 team, spending two years with them which included a couple of appearances in the free practice sessions at Grand Prix weekends. In 2018, he moved Stateside to try his luck in Indycar. After a spell away from racing to concentrate on his role in the successful family egg production business, he returned to his homeland and now races, albeit part-time, in touring cars, winning the 24 Hours of Mexico touring car race in 2021. Alfonso's full name is Alfonso Celis Enecaiz.
