Diaz is currently heavily involved in a Mexican government, FIA and Mexican Red Cross backed programme, Pilotos por la Seguridad Vial (Drivers for Road Safety), which he took up in 2014, which aims to drastically reduce the amount of road deaths in Mexico. Most recently, Diaz has been based in sportscars in America, and in particular, the American Le Mans Series, in which he won the P2 Championship in 2009. Also works as a speaker and more recently has also been competing in triathlons.
