Made his Champ Car World Series debut at his home round in 2005, after impressing as a double and back-to-back champion of the Panam GP series in the two years previous to his appearance at his local track. He now runs his own stock-car team in the main Mexican NASCAR series and also runs a team in truck racing, in which he occasionally competes in as well. He ialso raced in the Super Copa GTM series, but now runs a team instead of driving. Although he has lived in Mexico City most of his life, Richards was born in America.
