Also a mechanic to Ralph Mulford, which he did from 1911 until 1913, and was a car builder. A former cab driver, he was later manager of Crawford cars, and assistant manager at Hudson. Also listed as W W Chandler, but this was a mistake - his name was William Henry with the H possibly misread. Chandler was one of the most frequent racers in the 1910's, but sadly is probably best remembered for the being involved in the death of his riding mechanic, Morris Kessler, at a race at Des Moines in 1915. Chandler raced on a whole variety of surfaces, including beaches, concrete, dirt, brick and board ovals, as well as road courses. His best AAA result was second, on two occasions; once in 1913 at Galveston and the other was at Burlington in 1915. Chandler was also an aviator, a captain in World War One, and worked in real estate and as a justice of the peace in Fair Haven, New Jersey. Died of a heart-attack.
