Excellent midget racer. Retired in 1969 and later ran a gas station in Julian, California, in the mountains near San Diego. He was also very active with the local vintage open wheel groups. He raced in the Southern Californian region for nearly twenty five years, starting his career in 1946. Inducted into the National Midget Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 2012, Moorhouse had 63 midget wins in his career, which included nine USAC wins alone in 1957. Moorhouse won the United Racing Association championship in 1953 and finished second in the Pacific Coast Racing Association in 1947. Moorhouse moved to California to join the Navy in World War Two and ended up staying for the rest of his life.
