The improbably named Sting Ray name comes from his grandfather's ancestral home of Stirling (shortened to Sting) and his grandfather's first name of Ray. A deeply committed Christian, Robb started karting aged only five years old, racing for ten years in karts, before graduating to cars in 2016 in Formula Mazda. He won the Indy Pro 2000 Championship in 2020, but really came to notice - and at the same time earned his graduation to Indycar - in 2022, finishing as runner-up in the Indy Lights series. He remains in the series in 2024.
