An impressive driver, Theodore was killed in a road crash. Father of Andre, grandfather of Teddy, who was named Theodore after his grandfather. Pilette worked for Mercedes as the Brussels sales agent for the company and began racing in 1906. His drive at the Indianapolis 500 was impressive, finishing fifth, and he raced for Mercedes both pre and post-World War One. Pilette occasionally raced in England, which is where his wife hailed from.
