Riding mechanic, mainly for Joe Cooper, and later had a few years racing in his own right, proving to be quite quick. Worked as a garage owner and car distributor, as well as a mechanic. Harry also worked in the oil refinery industry, becoming a salesman in later years. This followed in the line of Harry's first job, leaving school early to become a salesman whilst still in his teenage years. Although he was born in Seymour, Jackson County and died in Danville, Hendricks County, it was in Indianapolis that he lived - and worked - the majority of his life.
