Was a longtime truck operator in Houston, Texas. Raced under the name of Ebb. Continued to visit historic events and reunions until his death. Rose's father was the founder of the company in the 1920's that Ebb then took over. Ebb was also a trained pilot and like his father, had a ranch on the outskirts of Houston. Rose didn't start racing until quite late in life; he was twenty-nine when he started in 1954. He initially started in stock car racing locally in Texas before moving into sportscar racing and SCCA events. He also owned and raced midget cars. When his father bought 100 Corvettes, Rose was given a works Corvette ride in SCCA events and continued, in various machinery, to be strong in the discipline into the 1960's.
