Better known as Norton motorcycle's development engineer. Started as a racer in Ulster, and had some success, but it was his tuning prowess that led him to being involved in a management and technical role. For almost 20 years, he came up with innovative designs for the Norton bikes. It was through his Norton role that he was involved with Vanwall as an engine design consultant. Left Norton in 1955 and moved to Holland, but was killed in a road accident shortly after emigrating.
