Formula 2 represented the high point of his career, but Paul also did some hillclimbing. Blum's profession was running a transportation company in Frick. Blum was another Brabham regular, racing in a Brabham BT10, BT16 and BT18, more often than not, for Bruno Frey's Midland Racing Team for whom he drove for some years. However in hillclimbs, Blum competed in a Cooper-Ford.
