Useful driver who worked in the car industry as a salesman and repair man. Harder was also based in Montgomery, Ohio and San Antonio, Texas in his life. Harder served his country during World War 1, joining the United States Army. Harder, whose family had both Irish and German ancestry, later also lived in New York State, in Evan Mills, relocating to find work as a mechanic. As a racer, Harder was best known for his prowess on dirt track ovals.
