Well known local driver in Ohio whose big national drives were few in number. Curtner was also based in Indianapolis itself for a while and he took the last space on the grid in 1922 after original driver Tom Mulligan crashed the car in practice. Survived a big crash in 1928 when he crashed through a fence. Curtner was the owner of a pool hall in Greenville called the Speedway Pool Hall.
