After a short break with his family after F1, he returned to racing, in the DTM, and also tested for McLaren F1. At the end of 2007, he announced he would stay with Mercedes, but in a more corporate/managerial role. In 2017, he returned to McLaren to take up an ambassadorial and promotional role with the team. Mika is now a driver manager - his most notable involvement is with Valtteri Bottas as part of his management team. Mika is no longer racing full-time. Also works as an ambassador for Hermes, the logistics company, and for Johnnie Walker, but also writes a column in a Finnish newspaper.
