Also known as simply 'Kris', Nissen built a long and successful career since Formula 3000. He moved into sportscars, but it was the DTM that really saw success for him. Kris then became a team boss, but then, for some years, ran Volkswagen's entire motorsport effort as their sporting director. He surprisingly left that role in 2013 to take up a role in a completely different industry - he is owner and manager of a campsite in the Southern Jutland part of Denmark, although Kris himself lives in Switzerland. Kris was German Formula 3 champion in 1986 and still does a bit of historic racing.
