Brother of the late James, David, a businessman, tried many times to make it as a team owner in Formula 1. He owned, for over a decade, the rights to the Team Lotus name, until he sold the rights in 2010. He was also an executive in a domestic air and water filter company. As a driver, like his brother, he didn't have the funds to really progress and battled hard to move upwards, but without a lot of tangible success. He did some driving in historic events for a while and then helped James' son Freddie in his own attempts of a racing career. Until his death, like his brother, of a heart-attack whilst in his sleep at the relatively young age of 55, Hunt was running a business dedicated to his elder sibling's legacy.
