Was in touring cars in South America for some years, including winning a title in his homeland in 1997, but is now retired. Won the South American (Sudam) Formula 3 title in 1993 and also raced in sportscars. Fernando was the head of the AAV, an Argentine motorsports and safety administration body, and also does race driver instructing, but is now the President of the Oscar y Juan Galvez circuit in Buenos Aires. He is particularly devoted to working with young drivers as he is keen for more Argentine drivers to come up the racing ranks.
