Decided to stay in South America after a brief spell in Europe and returned to the Formula 3 series. Gabriel has won the championship three times since his Formula 3000 spell; four times in total; 1989, 1994, 1996 and latterly, 1998, winning races between 1987 and 2000. Ran a successful touring car team in Top Race V6 in his homeland until 2019. He merged his team with the Azar team. He now works as a race engineer in Brazilian stock cars. He also won the 1986 Argentine Formula Renault title. After he stopped in single-seaters, Gabriel then raced in the two touring car series in Argentina, the TC2000 series and then Top Race.
