Found real success in America, becoming two times IMSA Champion, winning in 1992 and 1993. Drove in CART, but more recently is a regular at historic events, more often than not, driving the same machinery his late, great feted uncle drove. Also helps look after the family businesses, like the Mercedes dealership in Buenos Aires. Although single seaters didn't quite work out for Juan Manuel, he did win three American Racing Series events. He also raced in Can-Am. Fangio retired in 1997 after gaining a reputation in his own right as an excellent development driver.
