Emiliano now races in Argentine touring cars, in a variation of series, mainly in the TC2000 series, but also raced in the Top Race V6 series. In recent years, since the rally was moved to South America, Spatato became a regular at the Dakar rally but since it has moved to Asia he hasn't been as involved. Spataro's single-seater career stalled at the end of his Formula 3000 spell and since 1997 has largely been in touring cars in various forms, winning the Superturismo Sudamericano title in 1999 and the Top Race V6 Championship in 2007 and 2008. Real first name is actually Leonel.
