Full name Rickcliffe, he later became a car owner. He was also a promoter, organiser and publicist for midget racing, and was a pioneer in the discipline's popularity on the East Coast of the USA. He also buillt his own midget cars. Retired from driving in 1938, and later became an aviator and owned an aviation company. Rick raced in AAA events between 1928 and 1938, although these events were often restricted to Indianapolis. However, he did prove adept at road course racing, finishing in sixteenth place at Westbury in 1936. Unfortunately for Rick, he never finished any of his Indianapolis attempts, the car developing mechanical problems each time.
