Raced from 1907 onwards, Harry was a well-known and fast racer, achieving some success in mid-west events. Had long and close ties with Jackson, for whom he drove from 1910 onwards. Also worked in the newspaper industry. Stopped racing after a serious crash in 1911. In 1908, along with Ralph Mulford, Cobe won the Brighton Beach 24 Hour race in a Lozier. The pair won at an average of 45 miles per hour, completing 1,107 laps in total. Cobe's relief driver for the 1911 event was Louis Schwitzer, who enjoyed later success as a pioneering engineer.
