Came into racing at 25, when his father formed a team for him, after Rick had spent time flying planes and working in the construction business - indeed, he then became a president of a construction company. However, since 2006, he then became involved in a new venture away from both fields; Lake Trash, which is a water sports social club that allows people to take part in water sports, boating and other activities. Rick was also involved with lake maintenance and environment issues, boat sales and repairs and clothing until his death, aged only 56, in 2026, in a motorcycle accident. Treadway also served as an Federal Aviation Administration-certified flight instructor.
