Raced in Sudam and karts for a while, but is now retired from racing. Still lives in Belem, where he is involved with local community and business projects. Marcos is the son of Helio Gueiros, who was the governor of Para in the late 1980's and the local support was a huge help to Marcos progressing up the ranks. Marcos made the most of it, winning the 1991 and 1992 Formula 3 title in his homeland, as well as the Sudam title in the latter year.
