Vastly experienced CART racer, who was in single-seaters until Champ Car ended in 2008. Had spells in Grand-Am and NASCAR before settling in the Indycar Series for some years - however in 2014, he went back home to Canada and the Canadian Tire Series, where he also ran a team. Tagliani returned for more of the same in 2015, but once again returned to the Indianapolis 500. In 2016, though, it was a complete change and into Europe and the Blancpain Series, although he again appeared at Indianapolis. In 2017, he returned to running and racing for his own team in the Canadian NASCAR Pinty's Series. He remains in that category for 2024, but is no longer running his own team. Tagliani started his career in ice racing before moving into karts and then cars. Despite being a regular points scorer, he only ever did win one Champ Car race, which was at Elkhart Lake back in 2004. Tagliani is allergic to nuts and does a lot to raise awareness of nut allergies and epi-pens.
