Better known for his driving in the US; in Toyota Atlantic, CART and Indy Pro. After a relatively quiet spell lately, which included TV commentating, he returned to racing briefly, appearing in TransAm. Also works as a racing instructor but he also does tests and demonstration drives for road car manufacturers. Claude got interested in the sport through his father, who raced snowmobiles. Claude started racing in 1983 in karts, before progressing to Formula Ford in his homeland in 1985. As well as the above series, Bourbonnais also raced in the World Sportscar Championship in 1991, often partnering Michel Trolle and in more recent years Claude raced in Grand-Am.
