Retired after his Indianapolis attempt, and later became a mechanic. He worked in a number of garages and ran a muffler shop. Fraizer built (with two others), and then raced, a Ford-based track roadster hot-rod car in 1948, which used a 1927 Ford-Model T body and a 1928 Chevrolet chassis, but despite the age of these parts, was very effective; Dick took an one-lap speed record at Winchester Speedway, Indiana in 1948. The car is at the National Museum of American History. Fraizer also raced in stock cars as well as sprint and midget cars.
