Worked with Penske for years as a pit crew member until the late 1980's. He was inducted in the Georgia Hall of Fame in the mid 2000's, an event he attended, but he became increasingly frail and after a fall, and a bout of ill-health, he died recently. Started as a stunt driver before becoming one of NASCAR's early stars, but Frank - real name Francisco Eduardo Menendez - actually started his working life as a golf caddy. Frank served his country in World War Two before settling in stock cars. He won three NASCAR races in 1951 and won the 1953 and 1955 AAA Stock Car Championship.
