Amateur racer who started in hillclimbs, the discipline in which he was most competitive. Another driver to benefit from the rule changes that lead to the World Championship being run at Formula 2 spec, De Terra also raced in sportscars, beginning his career just after the Second World War. He tried hard, but was largely a backmarker at Formula 2 level and so returned to hillclimbs, where he continued for a few more years, stopping in the late 1950's.
