Long time driver in the DTM, who won the series title in 2005 and remained there until 2018. For eight years, until 2014, he was also McLaren's test and reserve driver, but never came close to a F1 drive with them - however had Prodrive's attempts to reach Formula 1 come to fruition, he was in line to race with them. In 2021, he returned to the DTM with Mercedes, for whom he still works in a management role, taking up the Formula E team manager role in 2022. In 2023, he became their Formula X series manager. Won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 1999 and prior to his DTM spell, Gary raced in Germany in their Formula 3 series. Now lives in Suffolk.
