Fittipaldi started racing in short-track racing before moving to Europe in 2013, winning the British Formula Renault title in 2014. A former member of the Ferrari Young Drivers Academy, Fittipaldi then competed in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship, the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series, European Formula 3 and Formula V8 3.5 series, winning the latter title in 2017. This highlighted his worth to many and he chose to move Stateside to embark on a career there. In 2018, he also appeared in the World Endurance Championship. In 2019, he became Haas F1's reserve and test driver but dovetailed this with a DTM drive.
