Did a decent job in Formula Super Vee and Formula 3, but didn't really much make of a breakthrough from that. Now runs a scenic train service in the Wildschonau valley in the Tirol and has other business interests around that. Stadler first impressed in the Volkswagen Castrol Europa Pokal in 1981, before driving for Bertram Schafer in European and German F3, and then in Formula 2. Stadler returned to German Formula 3 in 1985 but stopped racing after that.
