Racer who appeared briefly right at the end of the Formula 2 championship in 1984, but that season was fraught with difficulties due to stomach problems caused by handling more powerful machinery. In the end, he had to miss a few races as he needed intestinal surgery. Now runs a garage in Matzingen, where Roland has lived for a while, Minder Carrosserie AG, which specialises in BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Volkswagen cars. Prior to racing in Formula 2, Minder spent a while with the Schnellmann Racing team, which also helped Alain Menu and Norberto Fontana in their careers. In 1983, he finished in 4th place in the Formula Ford European Championship and 3rd place in the Swiss Formula Ford Trophy. Two years prior to that, he finished in second place in the latter series, both times racing a Van Diemen. Sometimes listed as coming from Kirchberg, Bern or Doettingen.
