Better known as a sportscar driver, he was a driver for Sauber in their very early days and one of the first two men to race a Sauber at Le Mans. Now restores and sells classic cars and owns a garage. Sometimes spelt as Straehl, Eugen was an accomplished sportscar driver with numerous GT wins, but he also won, twice (both times in an Osella), the Nurburgring 3 Hour race, the most recent of the two coming in 1988. Eugen raced in Switzerland as well, competing in hillclimbs.
