Lived for a long while in Berkshire, but in his latter years he moved to Pembrokeshire. A classic and sports car enthusiast and a very keen member of the British Racing Drivers Club, Alistair was also a team manager and entrant, running his eponymous Racing Team for both himself and Robin Widdows, working as the mechanic, manager and driver for the team having bought some cars from Brabham. Walker was also a regular driver in sportscars but retired from competitive racing before the mid-1970's. Alistair was able to enjoy racing as a independent, but scored some very notable results. Brother-in-law to Robs Lamplough, Walker was a trained pilot and flew a World War Two Harvard Trainer and also built a sea rescue launcher from World War Two which they then often lent to their local community for any World War Two or military celebration.
