Rose up the ranks of Formula Junior, but it his club and historic racing legacy that was his defining influence on the sport. His biggest and longest association with the sport was via the VSCC (Vintage Sports Car Club), serving as President of the Vintage Sports-Car Club from 1981-1984, having previously served as Editor of the Bulletin, 1973-1979, and was also winner of the Lycett Memorial Trophy on four occasions, in 1978, 1979, 1982 and 1983. Tom also competed in hillclimbs. Sadly died, peacefully at home, from a brain tumour. Long time based in King's Lynn, Tom was a pilot. He was a keen water ski-ier and also competed in powerboat racing, finishing second in class in the Daily Express Offshore Power Boat race in 1964. Tom also raced in motorcycles, rallies and hillclimbs.
