Son of Ken, of Token fame. Ian is now a businessman, but had a reasonably long career in the sport. Ian's interest in the sport was sparked when his father became a backer of the Rondel team in 1971 and with a sizeable income due to his father's success in insurance, Ian bought a Chevron B23 to race in endurance events. Money certainly helped Ian but he had talent, taking a number of class wins, including at the Nurburgring 1000kms and the Mugello 1000kms. He also finished in the top ten in many other events. Ian also raced in Formula 3, Interserie, Formula Pacific, the Shellsport G8 International series and finally, the IMSA Championship, retiring after his spell in the category in 1980.
