Died after a long battle against illness. Known as 'Mimi' to distinguish him from his relative of the same name (who was the motoring writer and founder of Automobile Year). Mimi raced in endurance and hillclimbs and was a driver coach before his illness and death. As well as Formula 2, Guichard raced in French Formula 3, the Renault 5 Turbo Eurocup and speed trials, with the occasional rally drive thrown in as well.
