Automobile mechanic who was born in Lebanon and was the first Indianapolis 500 driver of Middle Eastern descent. George travelled with his family to the United States as a boy in 1909 and then became a noted car builder and raced the car he built at Indianapolis. He also built an Oakland V8 with friend and competitor Ira Vail, which Claude Berton ended up driving with George as riding mechanic. George raced for about ten years and worked as a crew member for Ray Keech when Keech won the Indianapolis 500 in 1929.
