Sportscars was where he was strongest, with touring car and procar drives and raced nine times at Le Mans, often as Porsche's official test driver. Still well and keeps links with the sport and likes playing golf. Retired whilst at the top of his game in sportscars as he felt the dangers of the sport were too great to carry on. As well as sportscars, Manfred was excellent in Super Vee, winning the 1972 European Super Vee Championship and took numerous wins between 1971 and 1975. Schurti keeps links with his home nation and a small exhibition of his racing achievements is at the National Museum in Vaduz.
