Long-time resident of California, Goth raced in a range of series, including Formula 5000, Tasman, Can-Am and sportscars. Still alive, but keeps a low profile racing-wise. He was married to a Dow Jones heiress until 1974, and then became the owner of the Phoenix Bookstore in Santa Monica until it closed in 1996. Now lives in Vashon, Washington. Goth started racing back in 1963 in SCCA events and became a capable road racing driver before moving into Formula 5000. During this time and for some years afterwards, he ran a race shop.
