Raced for while, mostly in Can-Am and Formula 5000. Started racing in 1969 in Formula B and progressed quickly from thereon, also later running his own team, before stopping in 1978 after spells in Formula Atlantic, Formula 2 and sportscars. However Gregg returned for one more, surprise, one-off, at the Daytona 24 Hours in 1988. Later lived in California, but now back living in Westport. His mother, Irene, was his main backer and worked as his team manager in an effort to help his career.
