Still has links with motor racing through historic events. Raced competitively for over 20 years in sportscars. Wissler was a BMW devotee, racing in major sportscar races in his homeland throughout the 1970's and early 1980's in the make. Bernhard was also a regular in the German Touring Car Championship (Known as the DRM; German Racing Championship) in a BMW M1 and a BMW 320. It should be no surprise that his one Formula 2 start was in a March 742 powered by a BMW engine!
