Best remembered for his touring car career, winning the Spa 24 Hours in 1982 and 1983. Raced on for many years in endurance racing but then concentrated on historic racing and classic endurance events. He is now retired from driving. Hahne has enjoyed a successful and very long motor racing career (he started, aged just 17, in 1972), but as he wanted something to fall back on in the 1970's, he is actually a qualified dental technician. Armin was also a long-time test and development driver for Bridgestone and Pirelli and he was also the co-owner of a car refurbishment business, called Hapitec, based in Duren, but has now sold all his businesses. He lived in Monaco for many years, but now lives in the Eifel region of Germany. He enjoys golf and cycling now.
