Formula Vee ace who in more recent years has been a racing driver coach and consultant. After progressing from Formula Vee into Formula 3, Klein became a regular in both his home series and in European Formula 3, but not with a massive amount of major results until his breakthrough year in 1980. That year, in German Formula 3, Wolfgang finished runner-up in the series to Frank Jelinski, scoring three wins and seventy-eight points. After a brief diversion to the Renault 5 Turbo Eurocup, Klein made his Formula 2 debut in 1982 in a Maurer MM82-BMW. For some years, Klein left racing before returning two decades later to become a competitor in the German Ford Puma Cup. In 2008, after another break, he competed in the Seat Leon Supercopa in Germany. In 2014, after more time away from the tracks, Wolfgang was seen in the Central European Renault Clio Cup.
