Now a very successful businessman (He is the owner of Race Planet, which encompasses three indoor karting venues and a racing school at Zandvoort) and has raced for many years, sometimes with his sons, sometimes solo. He raced in the Renault Clio Benelux Cup and the Benelux Touring Car Championship, amongst other long-distance sportscar events, and Michael also runs his own team, which he moved to NASCAR Whelen in 2019, choosing to also drive in the series, despite being in his eighth decade. He continued to do that in 2024. Lives in Aerdenhout and for most of the year, in South France. Bleekemolen had just ten races in Formula Super Vee and Formula Ford 16000 when he made his F1 debut and it was arguably much too early for him to have made his debut. After his single-seater career finished, Michael became a regular in touring cars initially, before moving to sportscars.
