Worked as an engine tuner before joining Williams, where he remained for some 40 years. In more recent years, he's been less involved in the racing but remained with the team as a board member and shareholder and was also part of the FIA committee involved with running and organising their endurance series. In more recent years, he focused on hybrid and commercial opportunities with buses and railways. In 2015, Head was knighted for his services to motorsport. Now retired and living in Sardinia.
